Trail of 100 Giants
The Trail of 100 Giants is a feature of National prominence on the Monument. It is located on the Western Divide Highway above Quaking Aspen Campground and can be reached either via Springville from the west or Kernville from the south.
The Giant Sequoia Monument Association has taken significant steps to enhance this trail. The primary thrust of this effort has been the installation of new signage making the Trail a self-guided interpretive experience. These signs were fully funded by GSNMA, the 3 Forests Interpretive Association, and Sequoia Recreation – a division of California Land Management and the campground concessionaires on the Monument. Plans for the future include the improvement and expansion of parking at the trail as well as other features.
A seasonal store/information center is now open for business June through early November at Redwood Campground – immediately adjacent to the Trail. The Association also provides volunteer docents on the Trail primarily on weekends and holidays throughout the summer.
